MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Canadian Tour Continues. DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth spoke in Ottawa at the formal handing over of Queen Mary’s Carpet. At Toronto the Royal Couple went to the official reception by the Mayor at the City Hall. Next day, one of many engagements was a half-hour visit to the Toronto Exhibition Grounds. After Toronto, a glimpse of the Niagara Falls. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Royal train drawing up to standstill. GV Parliament Buildings at Ottawa. MS ditto with royal car arriving. Interior - Princess Elizabeth walks to mike speaks about the Queen Mary’s Carpet which she presents. Several shots of the carpet hanging on wall. Night material - driving through crowded streets to City Hall, Toronto. Elevated GV ditto. Princess & Duke alight enter building. Cut-in crowds, & types. Interior various shots of the couple & hall reception. Daylight - Princess & Duke seated on back of open car drive through huge crowds, cheering, mostly children. this is at Toronto Exhibition Grounds. . At the Niagara Fall: Royal car in procession drives along to Niagara Falls, various shots of the Falls, including the Horseshoe Fall. MS Falls with royal couple in foreground looking at same. Couple on observation platform, dressed in water-proofs. Duke signs visitors book at Oakes Gardens.
