Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Churchill & Eden in Paris. DESCRIPTION: On Mr Churchill’s arrival in Paris, he was welcomed by Monsieur Pleven, the French Premier. Mr Churchill and Mr Eden later lunched with President Auriol at the Elysee Palace. Cameramen and press photographers were in full force to note arrivals, which including Monsieur Pleven and Monsieur Schuman. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Arc de Triomphe. Train pulls into Gard du Nord. Churchill alights. Pleven & Churchill walk along platform. Churchill with hat off, Eden in background, stands while National Anthems are played (silent). Drives away in car with Sir Oliver Franks. Arrival at Elysee Palace, mounts steps, crowded with press & cameramen. Arrival of Pleven. Arrival of Schuman. Inside - Churchill shakes hands with Auriol on leaving, Eden shakes hands. Churchill down steps, displays his lapel showing the Medaille Militaire.
