Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Terrorists Round-Up in Egyptian Village. DESCRIPTION: Following terrorist activities in the Canal Zone, British troops have been carrying out a number of searches in Egyptian villages. Their task was to look for weapons and for any so-called Egyptian Commandos who might be hiding there. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Ship (Russian trawler) passing through the Suez Canal. Platoon of British troops, 1st Battalion East Lancashires. Several shots entering mud-houses. Egyptians & women in barbed wire pens. CU women hiding their faces. Men searching Egyptians. Egyptian leaves barbed wire pens. Camel staggers to it’s feet. Near Tel El Kebir. Coldstreams & Camerons crossing open country, Egyptians lined up & searched. Rounding up Egyptians. Egyptians being interrogated, three marched off to prison camp. Several shots prisoners in barbed wired compounds.
