Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Games - White City. DESCRIPTION: A large crowd at the White City saw Nankeville beaten by Gehrmann (USA) in the 1,000 yards race. MacDonald Bailey won the 220 yards easily and Gordon Pirie (who had already broken the British three miles record) won the two miles event on a drenched track. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV parade - pouring rain. Parade - carrying their flags, raining hard, parade scatters. 1,000 yards race, Gehrmann (US) beats Nankeville. Start & running - finish, MacDonald Bailey winning. CU - starter firing gun. Two-mile event, Gordon Pirie leading, mud all over him, also wins.
