Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Coronation Proclamation. DESCRIPTION: Traditional pageantry accompanied the proclamation of the Coronation and many Londoners assembled at St James’s Palace to hear the reading of the historic words. It was read at three other places, the last of which was at the Royal Exchange in the City. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Guards marching to St James’s Palace, several shots. GV of same, with Sir George Bellew reads proclamation, Duke of Norfolk stands beside him, preceded by fanfare, fade out & arrival at Royal Exchange, Sir Arthur Cochrane after fanfare continues to read proclamation. Three cheers led by Lord Mayor.
