MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Coronation Preparations. DESCRIPTION: With an immense amount of detail to be worked out in connection with the Queen’s Coronation, many of the tasks fall to Mr David Eccles (Minister of Works). The Duke of Norfolk, Earl Marshal of England, also has much to do and inspecting material for robes and so on is as important as the many major problems. SHOTLIST: Cut story - David Eccles (Minister of works) with Mr Bedford (Chief Architect) and Sir Charles Mole inspecting model of stands and route chosen for Coronation route. Mix to Coronation of Late King passing along Mall. Along into Whitehall and approaching Parliament Square. Arriving at Abbey inside Abbey, actual crown on King’s head. Duke of Norfolk inspecting samples of ermine & velvet for Robes. Assisted by Kings of Arms and Heralds.
