MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Launch of Orsova & Arcadia. DESCRIPTION: At Barrow-in-Furness, a new Orient liner, the Orsova was launched by Lady Anderson, the wife of a director of the line. It will be used on the London-Sydney run. At Clydebank, the P and O liner Arcadia was named and launched by Lady Anderson’s sister-in-law, Mrs Donald Anderson, whose husband is deputy chairman of the P&O. The Arcadia is expected to sail on her maiden voyage to Australia early next year. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Elevated MS crowds in dockyard. CU name Orsova and several shots of her. Lady Anderson on launching platform. Ship launched & sliding down slipway. CU name of Arcadia, crowds, Mrs Anderson launches ship, bottle hits side & ship slides down slipway. Ship in water.
