Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ascari Wins Grand Prix. DESCRIPTION: The Silverstone meeting attracted a hundred thousand spectators and the big event, of course, was the Grand Prix. The race resolved itself into a struggle between the Ferraris and the Maseratis, but Alberto Ascari, the Italian and World’s champion driver, won in a Ferrari. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV course. Crowd shots. Start of the Grand Prix. Several shots of race. No 5 Ascari drives at speed. Mike Hawthorn No 8 driving. No 8 in terrific skid in front of stands. Gonzalez No 24 at speed. No 8 & No 23 neck & neck racing. Ascari No 5 winning. CU Ascari being congratulated.
