Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Sportsman of the Year. DESCRIPTION: A large number of sporting personalities were present when the Sportsman of the Year Trophy presented by Sporting Record was awarded to Gordon Pirie. A superb trophy was also awarded to Britain’s first horse woman, Pat Smythe. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various shots of sporting personalities including Tommy Lawton, the Bedser twins, Sydney Wooderson and Roger Bannister. Patsy Hendren, Yvonne Sugden and Pat Smythe.
