Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour of Malta. DESCRIPTION: Ships of the Mediterranean Fleet escorted Britannia from Tobruk to Malta. Under the command of Admiral Lord Mountbatten, they fired a 21-gun salute in honour of Her Majesty. Arriving at Malta, itself, Her Majesty and the Duke landed from a royal barge to be greeted by Sir Gerald Creasy, the Governor. The chief ceremony during the Queen’s stay in Malta was the unveiling of the impressive memorial to members of the Commonwealth Air Forces. Later, Prince Charles and Princess Anne came ashore to witness a parade by combined services before Her Majesty. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Excellent shots of the ‘Britannia’ at sea. Prince Charles & Princess Anne alight from barge. Shake hands with Governor. Queen & Duke inspect parade in Land Rover. Combined Services Parade.
