Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: President of Portugal Arrives. DESCRIPTION: President Craveiro Lopes of Portugal was given a very warm welcome by the Queen and other members of the Royal Family, when he and his wife arrived at the Embankment today, on a three day State Visit. SHOTLIST: LS President’s ship Bartolomeu Dias coming under Tower Bridge and up the Thames. SCU guns at Tower firing salute. LS Royal Barge comes alongside. SCU the Queen with the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and Duke of Edinburgh waiting on embankment. SCU President Lopes and Mrs Lopes meeting the Royal Family. SCU the President and the Queen enter the state coach and the state drive begins (Duke of Gloucester also present in coach). LS Duke of Edinburgh and Mrs Lopes in state coach. LS and pan procession as it comes along the Mall and turns into the Palace.
