Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Braemar. DESCRIPTION: The Gathering of the Braemar Royal Highland Society was attended by the Queen and the Duke with their children. The Marquess of Aberdeen received the royal party, which included other members of the family. SHOTLIST: TPS over the grounds. Royal cars arriving. Crowds. Queen alights from car and is greeted by the Marquess of Aberdeen. Princess Anne and Prince Charles and Duke of Edinburgh alight from car, also Princess Margaret. Two girls give the Queen some flowers. Man tossing the hammer. Hammer hits the ground. Another man tossing the hammer. CU man playing bagpipes. Small girls Highland dancing. Boys Highland dancing wearing kilts. CU of feet whilst dancing. Crowds. Various shots of men tossing the caber. Two men wrestling. Tug of war between the Camerons and the Gordon Highlanders. The Camerons won. Several shots of the marchpast of the massed piped bands. Shot of the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Margaret and the Queen.
