- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Curfew in Nicosia. DESCRIPTION: At 12 o’clock everyday, the curfew is lifted for one hour, to let the people of Nicosia’s Greek quarter do their shopping. The curfew was imposed after an outbreak of terrorist murders. SHOTLIST: Empty streets in the centre of Nicosia. All shops shut with the shutters drawn. Police patrolling the town, on foot and in Land Rovers. Road block at entrance to Metaxas Square.
