MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Opening of Parliament. DESCRIPTION: The State Opening of Parliament once again drew crowds of spectators to witness the pageantry of the ancient ceremony. Her Majesty the Queen left Buckingham Palace in the Irish State Coach. In the Duke of Edinburgh’s absence Princess Margaret drove with her. A Sovereign’s escort of the Household Cavalry was in attendance during the drive to Westminster Palace. SHOTLIST: Exterior of Westminster Abbey. Crowds outside Abbey. CU guard wearing busby. Crowds.
