Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Lighter Side. DESCRIPTION: Mr Rowland Emmett, the cartoonist, has designed a Hush-a-Bye bed for the furniture exhibition at Earls Court. Meanwhile Mrs Klouda of Hammersmith ran out of petrol, so she ran her car on Whisky. SHOTLIST: Shots of Rowland Emmett (Cartoonist) and his Hush-a-Bye bed. Shots of Mrs Alice Klouda in her car which is run on whisky. Various shots of her daughter pouring whisky into the petrol tank. Shots of petrol pumps with various slogans on them relating to alcohol driven cars. Man pours alcohol from the petrol pump into a glass and another man drinks it. The petrol pump assistant then fills the tank up with the alcohol. Man then gets into his car and starts to drive off but is so drunk that he is making the car bunny-hop along.
