MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tragic Plane Crash. DESCRIPTION: The scene of the disaster near Manchester Airport, told the story of the tragic crash of the Viscount Discovery, when coming in to land after a flight from Amsterdam. The toll in life was heavy. This was the first fatal accident to a Viscount, and the first to a British European Airways plane in four years. SHOTLIST: General view of wreckage. Wreckage. Firemen.
