MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: P1 Demonstration. DESCRIPTION: The ‘P1’, with Wing-Commander Roland Beamont at the controls, has exceeded the world air speed record, but as it hasn’t gone out for the record, can’t claim it officially. SHOTLIST: GV P1 before take off. CU Test Pilot Beaumont donning helmet. MS Beaumont entering aircraft. CU warning notice on aircraft. MS Beaumont climbing into aircraft. MS cockpit closed. MS P1 take-off. P1 flies over. Same. LS cameramen as aircraft flies over. CU P1 in flight. Same (x2). MS same. LS same. Closer same. MS same. P1 touches down, chute assisted. MS aircraft coming to a standstill. High angle Beaumont leaves aircraft. Different angle. Aircraft after flight.
