- Summary
- At Farnworth in Lancashire, the residents of Fylde Street and Hall Lane had to evacuate their houses, as they crumbled into ruin before their eyes. Underground workings subsided beneath their homes and sent them tumbling to the ground. Some 400 people found themselves homeless.
