- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bush Fires. DESCRIPTION: Blowing up through the Jamieson Valley in New South Wales, whipped up by the giant bellows of a seventy mile-an-hour wind, the worst bush-fire in the history of the State. It threatened the townships of Wentworth and Leura and the lives of their citizens. The town of Leura has a population of 4,500, half of the town was burnt down. At Wentworth Falls, a hundred and fifty buildings were completely gutted, causing nearly 2 million pounds worth of damage. SHOTLIST: CU thick winds sweep flames. 3 shots house burning. 2 shots fire alongside house and water tank. 2 shots thick smoke in residential area, houses burning near main road. Fire around rubble, which was homes. Shots of a garage at Wentworth Falls burning furiously. Shots of burnt cars in ruins.
