Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Anti-Terrorists Operation. DESCRIPTION: The Security Forces in Cyprus have been engaged in a full-scale search for terrorists, the most comprehensive sweep for over a year. But at such a time, the military machine also reveals its kindlier side: the promise of modern medicine is brought to remote mountain villages. For example: vaccination against polio. SHOTLIST: Shots of helicopter flying over mountains while below soldiers lead heavily laden donkeys along a rough road. They are carrying supplies to the troops who are searching for terrorists in the Limassol area. Fields in this Southern Cyprus district are gone over with mine detectors in the hunt for hidden weapons and ammunition. The soldiers use mine detectors on the farm buildings both inside and out. It’s the biggest and most detailed security search for over a year.
