- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bus Rides - Free!. DESCRIPTION: The People’s League for the Defence of Freedom, initiated a free service to help people who suffer because of the bus strike. The Char-ladies of London welcomed this idea. They have to start travelling before the Underground opens, and the bus strike hits them more than most. SHOTLIST: GV bus passes Big Ben.
