- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Another Channel Crossing Srn1. DESCRIPTION: The first Channel crossing by Hovercraft coincided with the Bleriot celebrations. The Saunders Roe machine made the trip from Calais to Dover in a little over 2 hours. The Inventor and a colleague acted as human ballast to compensate for extra fuel. Saunders Roe Chief Test Pilot Peter Lamb gave a comment. SHOTLIST: CU Hovercraft (key & title). LS Hovercraft above water. Closer same. Closer showing inventor and engineer acting as ballast. Crowds wave. FS Hovercraft leaves the water and goes up beach. Same - crowds look on. GV crowds around Hovercraft. MS Test Pilot - Peter Lamb. Same talking (sound).
