- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Tale From Vienna. DESCRIPTION: The tale started with a torchlight procession: an Austrian student corporation, said to be holding fast to some form of Nazism as a political creed, celebrated the 200th anniversary of the birth of Schiller with a parade. This birthday was their excuse. It is all right to pay tribute to that great German poet and dramatist, but the neo-Nazism of students was like a red rag to most of the citizens of Vienna. They were resolved to put a stop of anything in the nature of Nazism. A pretty stout demonstration against the student demonstrations was soon going strong, and the police tried to restore order. SHOTLIST: GV demonstration (key). LS torch-light procession. Closer same. MS flags in procession. MS students holding torches aloft. CU Schiller statue. Longer shot pan up statue.
