MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The President’s Tour. DESCRIPTION: A downpour at Rome marked the first stop of President Eisenhower’s tour of Europe, Asia and Africa. He was welcomed by President Gronchi. Mr Eisenhower went to the Vatican City next morning, and there was a most friendly greeting from His Holiness Pope John for the President of the United States. Ike was shortly due in India, and already preparations for his reception were made. A wing of the Indian President’s Palace was put at his disposal for the five-day stay. .
