Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Olympic Flame Lit. DESCRIPTION: An 80-year-old, once a well-known skier, lit the flame in a hut near Oslo. Then, the old man handed the torch to youth, and presently, it was taken over by a team of skiers for the start of its long journey to the States. Though the Olympic Games of 1960 are to be held in Rome, the Winter Olympics are due to open shortly at Squaw Valley in California. The flame was on its way to Oslo’s airport for the flight to Los Angeles. SHOTLIST: CU old man in hut. CU fire burning in hut. CU torch is lit and carried by little boy. GV captain and team leave carrying torch. MS team walk over snow plain. CU ditto. GV pan American and Norwegian flag. CU torch.
