- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Premier’s Farewell. DESCRIPTION: Capetown was the scene of the last engagements of the tour. The Premier and Lady Dorothy were calling on the Governor General and his wife at the end of a ten-day visit to the Union. After lunch, they went for a drive to Groot Constantia, a fine example of Cape Dutch architecture. There was a tea party here for Mr Macmillan and his wife, who were the guests of the Administrator of Cape Province. Finally, farewells from the people of Capetown, on the way to the docks to board the Capetown Castle. Then, it was goodbye to the Premier, Dr Verwoerd. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Aerial - Capetown (2).
