Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Contrast in Coventry. DESCRIPTION: The most obvious contrast in Coventry features the two cathedrals. The old one stands as a monument to courage under the blitz of Nazi bombs in World War Two. . The present Supreme Allied Commander, General Norstad, visiting the city, doubtless compared it with the new Cathedral, now rising from the ashes of the past. A Coventry factory, making armoured cars and other military equipment for NATO forces, pointed another sharp contrast. The General noted progress here with satisfaction, but when he was to address a public meeting later, he was at first shouted down in the hall by demonstrators.
