Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Queen Tours Pakistan in Colour. DESCRIPTION: Karachi is the principle seaport of West Pakistan, and it was here that the Queen went aboard a minesweeper to review ships of the Navy. Pakistan retains a lot of Royal Naval influence, in her ships as well as her tradition. . A number of the vessels were formerly in the Royal Navy and are familiar to the Queen. There was another visitor from home, the submarine HMS Tactician. Attending a banquet at the Presidential Palace, the Queen came out with her host, President Ayub Khan to admire the illuminations. The gardens lay glittering beneath a canopy of lights, the evening was warm and the sky like velvet. An unforgettable occasion. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV Karachi. MLS camels in street.
