- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Ascot (Colour). DESCRIPTION: Ladies’ Day, the third day, opens with the royal drive. And there was a big welcome for the Queen and Prince Philip. Of-course, you simply must be in the fashion, if you go to Royal Ascot! It’s one of the greatest social events of the season. Extravagant hattery is a must!. The Queen went along to the paddock before the big race of the day, the Gold Cup. And, this year, there was a strong French bid to win it.
