- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Spaceman Number 3. DESCRIPTION: Captain Virgil Gus Grissom, the Air Force Officer selected to follow the example of Commander Shepard, is seen here entering the capsule at Cape Canaveral. As we know, he went up as soon as weather permitted. Then, back from space after about a quarter of an hour, and down by parachute. Safe and sound in Liberty Bell 7, he came down to the sea to be picked up by helicopter. Spaceman Number three had done it! SHOTLIST: Key scene. LS Grissom leaves transfer van (pan).
