Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: How the Railways Run. DESCRIPTION: Mr Marples, Minister of Transport, presented Dr Beeching and his deputy, Sir Philip Warter to the Queen who visited the Eastern Region of British Railways. Her Majesty went from Liverpool Street Station to Stratford, and the first stop was to look at diesel engines at the maintenance depot. Then, to the control tower at the Temple Mills Marshalling Yard. During the visit, the Queen accepted a model engine for the Prince of Wales. SHOTLIST: Key scene. MS the Queen meets Mr Marples.
