Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Plug in to the Patients. DESCRIPTION: Thanks to a new device, a British invention by EMI, it will be possible for a nurse to keep an eye on up to a hundred patients. So, electrify the patients: a belt will record respiration, and a thermometer under the arm is wired to the control centre. So is the ear-clip, which records the pulse rate. The wires are linked with a junction box on the bed, and nurse, at her control desk, simply dials the ward. Having got through, she dials each patient in turn, without leaving her desk.
