Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Uki. DESCRIPTION: The world’s first two-nation probe, whereby Britain hoped to make her first move into space, is a British-American effort, and the American 3-stage Delta rocket was to be the launcher for the British satellite UKI. These pictures of the assembly, at Cape Canaveral, were taken a few days before the expected blast-off. And here is a model, showing how UKI was to orbit the Earth at a height varying from 200 to 600 miles. One of the objects, to obtain facts leading to better radio communications on the earth and in space.
