Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: European Champion. DESCRIPTION: White City - this time to watch the cream of international show-jumpers, in one of the most arduous contests of the week, the 14 fences of the European Championship. The course has to be covered twice, and there are nearly a mile of really tough obstacles. David Barker on Mister Softee established a lead in the 3 qualifying rounds and went on to retain the title for Britain. Germany, with Herr Winkler on Romanus, and Italy and that famous combination, Piero d’Inzeo and The Rock finished jointly second. SHOTLIST: Key scene. CU parade by teams. CU crowd.
