Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pastimes for All Ages (Childrens Art) - (Do-It-Yourself). DESCRIPTION: The National Exhibition of Children’s Art vividly illustrates that there’s no more satisfying pastime for youngsters. Among the many exhibits is Richard Scollins’ Charge of the Fusiliers, and Steamboat, a Scottish entry and winner of a special award. The overall winner was Edwin Thubron from Leeds College, seen here explaining the theme of his abstract. Art is definitely a do-it-yourself pastime, and that’s the theme of an exhibition at London’s Olympia, where you can pick up enough hints to build your own home. There are easy-to-lay bricks, for instance, and easy-to-fix tiles. Furniture kits are very popular, and you can bind your own carpet with a special glue. And woodwork is made easier by the wide range of tools. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV National Exhibition. Pan up paintings 5-7 year olds. (4 shots) paintings A walk to Emmaus. CU A Portrait of a Friend.
