- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Liverpool - Royal Opening. DESCRIPTION: It was a big day on Merseyside when the Queen arrived to inaugurate the Langton-Canada dock improvement scheme which costs £20 million. She was to open the gates of the entrance-lock, which allows the biggest cargo-vessels to come and go at almost any state of the tide.
