Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Journey (In Colour). DESCRIPTION: The Queen and Prince Philip approaching Suva aboard Britannia, but their stay in this island had to be cut to 5 hours due to delays on the flight from Canada. This was the second time they had visited the island. There were thousands to welcome the Kava ceremony. Then the presentation of the root from which Kava is extracted. They say Kava looks - and tastes like dish water. On behalf of all the islanders the Governor and Lady Maddocks wished them bon voyage. The Queen and the Duke boarded Britannia for the next stage in the 30,000 mile journey - New Zealand. You’ll be seeing it all in this newsreel. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV pan - harbour.
