Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Down on the Deck. DESCRIPTION: At the Royal Aircraft Establishment - Bedford they’ve rigged up an ingenious platform, coated with anti-skid paint, which effectively reproduces the rock n’roll of a ship in heavy seas. Anyway they’ve proved that a helicopter fitted with special undercarriage and anti-skid tyres can land safely in the considerable roll of 15 degrees either way. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV helicopter landing on platform. MS same. CU same - helicopter rocking, structure of rocking machine (4 shots). CU helicopter takes off. GV same - helicopter flies away. CU rocking machine. CU helicopter in the air. CU helicopter lands on platform. GV same. (This demonstration was given at the Royal Aircraft Establishment in Bedford.)
