MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Towards the Vertical. DESCRIPTION: The day of the vertical take-off airliner is one stage nearer with the development of a new jet transport-aircraft, the Hawker Siddeley AW 681. On this model we’re being shown how the four engines swivel to give vertical lift for the short take-off, also specially designed air-blown wing-flaps.
