- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Waiting Is the Worst. DESCRIPTION: Lake Eyre, South Australia, the scene of the world land speed record attempt. Rain and floods have made the surface treacherous. Donald Campbell’s certainly had a run of bad luck recently. In spite of the threat, he and his team are pressing on with Bluebird’s low speed trials and testing. Forecasts indicate that flooding might well get worse, so Campbell’s got two races on, one against the record, the other against the floods. SHOTLIST: Key scene. Tracking and angle shot of Lake Eyre. GV pan same. MS Donald Campbell climbs into Bluebird. GV Bluebird. GV same moves off. Tracking shot Bluebird across Lake Eyre (2 shots). Land speed record attempt.
