Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Old Bridge Blasted. DESCRIPTION: An old bridge near Aachen in Germany has been replaced by a new one, so the old one’s being blown down. The charges are placed in such a way that the old structure falls the right way without harming the new bridge which is just a few yards away. SHOTLIST: Pictures show a bridge at Alsdorf being blasted. Alongside the old bridge a new one was built to keep the traffic flowing. The difficulty in blasting was to be careful not to damage the new bridge, as it was standing so close to the old. But as pictures show the demolition squad under Mr George Werner did their job perfectly.
