Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Space Spectacular. DESCRIPTION: Not one of the giant rockets displayed by the Soviets can match America’s Saturn Five. From Cape Kennedy, Saturn has just completed the first test flight of the largest rocket ever to enter space. Carrying an Apollo spacecraft, this is the powerpack which may one day put the first men on the moon. SHOTLIST: Pan up Saturn Five on launching pad. GV ditto. Pan up ditto. LS smoke as rocket motors ignite. GV rocket lifts off launching pad. LAS animation sequence as first stage motors stop. CU animation sequence as first stage separates. MS ditto. MS animation sequence as second stage separates. MLS animation sequence of rocket during flight. MS ditto. MS animation sequence as third stage separates. Mix to show Apollo during flight. MS model of world showing orbit of Apollo. MS Apollo beginning re-entry. MS diagram slow rate of descent of rocket. MS rockets fire to release the command rocket.
