MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: A Nation’s Tribute (Colour). DESCRIPTION: In St Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, Americans mourn the tragic death of Robert Kennedy. Thousands file past the coffin - Thousands more attend the Requiem Mass - many more still, line the route from New York to Washington, delaying the Funeral train so that night has fallen when eventually, Arlington National Cemetery is reached. Here the flickering light of tapers, held by the Kennedy Children, add their own poignant touch to the last moments of farewell.
