Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: French Grand Prix. DESCRIPTION: Belgium’s Jacky Ickx wins the French Grand Prix, Britain takes second, third and fourth place, but the race is overshadowed by the tragic death of French driver Joe Schlesser. Explosions from his blazing Honda threaten other drivers as well as the rescue crew in these dramatic trackside scenes. SHOTLIST: MS (3 shots) start and follow through of French Grand Prix at Rouen. MS (3 shots) race in progress. MS No 4 flashes past. MS car flashes past. MS (3 shots) No 4, 99 & 2 flash past. MS (7 shots) race in progress. MS C/A spectators. MS scene of smashed car (in which Joe Schlesser was killed) burning. MS C/A spectators. MS fire being extinguished. MS driver of crashed car being carried off. MS (4 shots) race continues.
