Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas - Home and Away. DESCRIPTION: As the giant Christmas Tree is switched on in Trafalgar Square, we count the days to Christmas, and count our blessings if we’re able to enjoy it at home, with family and friends. For many, Christmas only underlines their loneliness or estrangement. Old folks, remembering Christmas past, children in hospital, separated from their parents. And the others, separated, not by age or illness, but by distance. We visit the Drilling Rig, Sea Quest, to take Christmas cheer to the crew who’ll be working over the holiday and join the Margate Lifeboat on a Santa Claus visit to one of the Channel Light vessels.
