DESCRIPTION: Fifty years after Ross and Keith Smith made the first flight from England to Australia, the longest and richest air race ever held commemorates this great pioneer achievement. It brings honour for Britain’s record breaking solo pilot, Sheila Scott, after fearful ordeals, and give the provisional overall victory to the Britten - Norman Islander, flown by Captains Bright and Buxton.
