MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aircraft Arrestor Net. DESCRIPTION: How do you stop a Phantom jet fighter making an emergency landing on an aircraft carrier? Experiments at the Royal Aircraft Establishment show how a new arrestor net - made from steel cables and nylon webbing - can stop the plane in three hundred feet. SHOTLIST: CU, zoom back Phantom mock-up aircraft on simulated aircraft carrier runway. GV ditto, shot through arrestor net - aircraft in b/g. SV arrestor net. CU ditto, man inspecting.
