Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: St Leger. DESCRIPTION: A convincing victory in the St Leger makes the Canadian-bred colt Nijinsky the first racehorse to win the Triple Crown - 2,000 Guineas, Derby & St Leger - since 1935. Starting at odds-on, Nijinsky gives champion jockey Lester Piggott his fifth win in the race and owner Charles Engelhard his fourth Leger win in seven years. SHOTLIST: LV horses around paddock including Charlton No 2, SV Nijinsky. CU pan ditto’s head. SCU Lester Piggott enters paddock. GV crowd & grandstand. CU race card pan up to girl. Mr Engelhard, the owner, Nijinsky led around, pan ditto.
