- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Uniforms for Postwomen. DESCRIPTION: New uniforms for Britain’s 9,000 postwomen. They’re following their male colleagues into grey worsted. But nothing revolutionary. In fact the first uniform for postwomen, issued in 1915, looks more up-to-date. SHOTLIST: Angle shot London’s Chief PI, pan down postman - woman out of doorway. CU 2 shots signs ‘London’ and ‘Country’. SV sign Post Office pan to SV. 3 women wearing new uniform walk towards & past camera along pavement. SV ditto out of archway pan to one as she stops to read envelope. CU showing hat pan down slowly to feet. SV other woman in grey uniform walks along street and stops to read envelopes. SCU ditto angle shot buildings tilt to SV woman in grey trouser suit pan as she walks along posting letters. SCU photographs of the uniform worn in 1913 [sic].
