Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Post Office Parcels. DESCRIPTION: The Christmas rush is on. Particularly for Post Office workers handling the deluge of parcels. They do all they can to see that the mail gets through before December 25th, even if the packages are damaged in transit. At Twickenham, an inflatable sorting office deals with 35,000 parcels a day. SHOTLIST: GV interior Mount Pleasant sorting office. SV pan down mass of parcels. LV parcels being sorted & put into baskets. CU pan from name Middlesex to large towns. LV broken parcels being sorted. CU pan damaged parcels. CU man looking at split open parcel. SV man putting broken parcel under shrink wrapping machine which wraps parcel in polythene bags. LV sealing polythene bag. GV exterior Post Office inflatable sorting office. SV air ball being inflated. CU sign on door This is an air lock. SV postmen going through air lock door. CU (interior) air lock door & postman opens the inner door. Zoom to porthole. GV (interior) men sorting parcels. SV postmen putting mail-bags onto truck. SV parcels up conveyor belt pan to big GV parcels being sorted. CUs (3) place names. SV door opening pan to face watching. SV pan truck pulling trolley out of hall. LV exterior ditto. GV inflatable sorting office.
